Notts MGOC Early Starter Run 2010.
Sunday 11th April
Road to the left where John stopped

23 cars took part on this annual run which started and finished at The Shepherd's Rest pub in Lower Bagthorpe. On a beautiful, sunny, spring day, the run took the cars through parts of Notts and The Peak District and was about 50 miles long. Lunch was then taken in the pub and finished off with a few drinks and a chat outside in the sunshine.

 St Georges Day Run 2010.
Sunday 18th April

Although this wasn't the nearest Sunday to St Georges Day, it was used because several members were to be away the following weekend. It was organised, as usual, by John and Marian Moss .
21 cars, 19 various types of MGs, an  E-Type  Jaguar and a Triumph Stag.
The run took us through 70 miles of  pretty scenery in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire  to finish at The Sun Inn, North Wheatley for lunch. On the way, we had one breakdown when John Walker's MGB 'blew' a top radiator hose. Luckily there were several club members with the correct equipment, tools and a lot of water to get him going again.
The weather was dry, sunny and warm to make it the second run in a row with great weather!

This weekend at the Warner's Hotel at Cricket St Thomas, Somerset was organised by the National MG Owners' Club and was attended by 380 members, 10 of whom were from the Notts Area MGOC. Activities included road runs, treasure hunts, sporting competitions (clay pigeons, archery, boules etc) and a St Georges Day-themed evening dinner and car-dressing competitions. The main part of the hotel is called Cricket House and was used in the TV series 'To the Manor Born' for those old enough to remember.
The weather was sunny most of the time apart from some overnight rain on Saturday and a few very light showers on Sunday afternoon during the St George's day parade and judging of the MG's which had been dressed up in a St George's  theme.
Entertainment was included each evening highlighted by an appearance by The Fortunes on Saturday.
We all had a great time in good company with excellent food and pleasant surroundings taking part in some of the activities or going our own way around the area.
